Having lived in Saudi Arabia, I often witnessed my Father who was a Diplomat at the Head Office of H.R.H Prince Muqrin Bin Abdul Aziz, helping miserable, homeless people. The problem in Gulf is usually of male victims that are trafficked as labours and forced to work in inhuman conditions for low or no wages at all.

Yet in movies we only see one aspect of human trafficking- prostitution.

To understand the issue completely and be able to find solutions to the problem, I took a course in Understanding Human Trafficking with the Ohio State University. As a final project for examination, I even made a PSA- Public Service Announcement which you can see in the right hand window.

In future, I aim to develop innovative ways of spotting victims and sheltering vulnerable children in India.

6 Doable & Easy Actions to Uproot Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is one social issue that has bewildered me since I was a child.

Victims of human trafficking exist in every country in the world. Growing up, I had those people all around me but shockingly, I never noticed them! I know it sounds stupid, but the reason why I never noticed them was because we were always told to ignore them, ignore what didnt bother us and avoid the dirty secrets of society. In this age, I learn that modern day slavery has been there all around me, all my life and if I never noticed it back then, now is the time to notice it because noticing those people is the first step towards acknowledging the problem.
